you are not alone

10.01.2018

Do y’all know the hymn- someone to care? ( If not..here’s the lyrics ), They’re so tender and just down right amazing. And then again, they might not be to you because I’ve heard this song my whole life, growing up in church but it wasn’t one of my favorites. Honestly, it just never stood out to me.

That is until one Sunday night, the congregation was standing, singing this song. I was having a pretty rough week. Ryan had been working late hours and I had been home day in and day out with the girls. Exhausted isn’t even the word. I wasn’t even singing with the church, I was honestly just going through the motions (oops, but that’s the truth and God already knows anyhow)

My sweet lil pastor turned around, looked me dead in the eye and motioned for me to come up there and stand with her. I walked up and she hugged me and whispered, He cares for you, honey. Whoaaaa, talk about water works y’all. I hadn’t told her, or anyone (maybe my best friend who is also a SAHM) about how alone I had been feeling. Maybe it was written all over my face or she had also been in that same place raising 7 of her own children. Regardless, of how or why she said those words I believe Jesus wanted her to tell me that He cared for me.

That song means the world to me now. I still have days where I don’t have a a lot of adult interactions-days filled with fighting toddler girls, diaper changes, and mountains of laundry (ugh. it’s my least favorite thing in the whole world lol) but I have those lyrics in my heart and that memory. I know that I am not alone and that someone cares.

Jesus is pulling at my heart strings as I write this and I want any and everyone who has ever felt loneliness to know- You are His child. You are never alone. You are loved. And He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7 : Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

John 14:18: I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Romans 8:37-39

Look up that last verse. It’s longer, but I promise it’s worth it. Get into God’s word and understand His love for you.
